In February of we made arrangements with Prestige to go to Jamaica for our wedding. We made all the payments, way in advance, and received, after many problems having the payments posted to the correct account, confirmation that everything was taken care of.
On the day of our trip, August 15, when we and our guest were at the airport, we were informed that we needed a birth certificate or a passport. Prestige had advised us in writing that we needed valid I.D. We had our drivers license and military I. D, but we did not take our birth certificates or passports with us to the airport that morning.
The next day we contacted Prestige and informed them of what had happened, and they advised us that for about $300.00 per person we could go the next day. They stated that they had told us in writing that we needed our birth certificates. We offered to e-mail them back all the information they had sent us. Nothing on these faxes or e-mail state that a passport or birth certificate would be needed.
We would have had no problem bringing our birth certificates with us had we been informed. To date no arrangements have been made to assist us. They inform us that we need to pay additional money if we wish to go on our honeymoon. They have shown lack of respect, and have advised us that they would do not more for us at this point, if we are not willing to pay additional money. Of course the trip is already paid in full.
