Not so much fraud as lack of customer care or service.
I purchased furniture on a 12 month no interest program. If payment is made in full by the deadline, there is no interest charged, but if you are late, the interest for the previous 12 months is added to your account!
I was 8 days late in making the complete payoff of the account. After 2 phone calls with Wells Fargo, they were willing to forgive 210.00 but would not budge on the 628.00.
If Wells was really concerned about customer service, they would have forgiven the 628 and charged me the 210. But they are obviously just hoping that people will either forget their payment, or just get in over their heads.
Shame on a company for worrying so much about its stock holders and not really caring for a customer. And shame on me for being late!
