I was looking at a website about the sinking of the Titanic on April 14 1912. I followed a link in the text to a competition that stated I could win an Ipad.in order to complete the quiz I was asked to submit a valid cell phone number. As soon as I had done so I received a text from this company calling itself mobshack telling me that I had just signed up for an app for their company at $9.99. I tried to text back to cancel but was unsuccesful. At no time did these people tell me that this charge was a recurring charge by the week or what the app was for in the first place. I contacted Voxtel around the middle of April and asked them to block this company and remove my phone number from their database but subsequently just found out that these charges kept on reccurring. When I contacted my service provider i.E. Telus they informed me they could do nothing and that I would have to get Voxtel to cancel. I then contacted Voxtel and spoke with a manager and was assured that my phone number had now been permanently blocked to mobshack. I am going to lodge a formal complaint as well to the better business bureau and consumers canada. I am fuming that these low down scum can behave in such a fashion as to dupe innocent people.
