I know you usually cover bigger stories than mine but I was hoping that you would take the time to read my story and possibly help me. I recently took my 2013 Hyundai Elantra to Raul's auto repair on 147th Ave and 56th street to get a tire patched up. As the attendant was putting the tire back on my car he scratched my rim with the air gun used to screw in the lug nuts. This happened right in front of my face and I immediately called him out on it. He denied scratching it but directed me to the owner Raul for repair options. I showed Raul what happened and he advised that I take my car to a body shop for an estimate and that he would pay for it. I went to several body shops to include the dealer where I bought my vehicle only 3 weeks before this incident. Doral Hyundai body shop and the others I went to advised that a wheel cannot just be spot painted and or spot treated. They advised that it needs to be completely sanded and repainted in order for the wheel to make the others. The estimates ranged from $116 to $194. The scratch is not big it's probably the size of half a penny but I feel that if they damaged it they should be held responsible for putting the wheel back to how it was before they worked on it. The owner and the employee both denied fixing my wheel and advised that I should just live with it and or call the police. After hours of discussing the matter with them I had no choice but to call the police and to my surprise other than writing an incident report there was nothing that could be done. The owner and employee both knew that nothing would come out of me calling the police which is why they kept telling me to call them. These small repair facilities can basically do what they want since they aren't being regulated or supervised by a name brand company or organization. They and all the other small repair facilities need to be held accountable for these incidents. I am sure if they come out on the news and are called out on their taking advantage of customers that they will think twice the next time they think that they are above the law.
