I saw an ad on the newspaper website for a yorkie for free adoption. Ravenelle
Banks was from Arkansas and just moved to Leeds, England and she needed
to find a good home for her puppies. Her job was too demanding that she had
little time to take care of them. She proceeded to make arrangements with the vets to be sure they were healthy enough to travel and then had them
registered at the airport. Then the airport would contact us with all the travel
arrangements and fees. First we sent money for the flight. Then they said they had to get a bigger kennel, so sent money for that. They sent us the
itinerary and the pups were to arrive in Arkansas Friday evening. Friday morning we got a call from Chris saying the pups were grounded in London
because the pups hadn't been insured, and because of their breed they needed
$1120.00 which would be refunded when we picked them up at the airport. We sent them the money by western union (as we did the other times) and
then they called again saying the pups had missed their flight and would have
to be rescheduled. Saturday morning came and we were called again and
Chris said the pups were being held at the Berlin air port because the pups were weak and needed vaccinations so they could continue on. They needed
$425.00 to take care of that. That was sent western union. A couple hours
later Chris calls and says the vet in Berlin had overdosed the pups and they
died. Now the insurance company wants to send us $43,550.00 for the insurance claim, but they need $1400.00 to set up an account and for processing and notarizing. It was brought to our attention by our son of a
similar situation like ours that was a scam. Of course now a little poorer and much wiser, we want to bring this to a halt. Hope this helps someone else.
What makes this so hard was the pictures of the beautiful puppies that were
emailed to us. It was love at first sight. It makes us very angry that we were
taken advantage of in this way and Ravenelle said she was from Arkansas. Shame on all of them!!
