I ordered the trial face creams from the website on January 14 - Aqualift and VitaDerm. The website pushed Rejuvederm eye cream as a free add-on so I also ordered that.
My credit card was billed a total of $4.92 On January 14.
On Feb 2 and Feb 4, my credit card was billed a total of $204.97 for the three products.
On Feb 19 and 21, my credit card was billed a total of an additional $204.97. Of course, I do not get my credit card bill for several days, and the day I received my bill I also received a box from the postal service. I realized the box was from Aqualift etc so I did not open it and immediately called the company and complained.
So the total charges on the SAME credit card bill equalled $409.94!
They said they would credit me the Feb 19 and 21 billed amounts if I returned the box unopened, but that I should have cancelled the trial products and returned them within 14,18 and 21 days.
This is not ethical, as I was billed on Feb 2 and Feb 4, before the 14,18 and 21 days for the trial had expired.
This company is unethical and is preying on so many consumers. This type of business should not be allowed to advertise. Their advertisements are misleading and they are billing before the trial period is completed and also sending and billing for products that are not requested. Unauthorized use of my credit card!
I asked the gentleman answering my complaint on the telphone if he did not have a conscience working for a company that makes money off of misleading and unethical billing practices. Obviously he has no conscience!!!
The Attorney General MUST do something to stop these business practices and make this company credit the consumers they have misled and stolen from.
