Our drive way was paved by someone who solicited without a permit.
The job was done poorly and the driveway looks bad and not all of the driveway with paved.
After the job was finished, I told him that I was not satisfied
He demanded payment in cash
and did not want to give us anything in writing.
I wrote down on a piece of paper that I paid him $2800 cash
and he signed it.
I told him I would like a contract and receipt.
He said he would deliver it the next day … which he did not.
He brought me a paper that had the word proposal on it.
Only a phone number was handwritten on it by him.
No other information about his company was included.
I asked him for an address and phone number and he refused to write it down or give it to me.
On the paper was a list of things that he did to the driveway
and the words "2 year warranty".
Is there something you can do to help us get our money back?
We are both over 60 and we were not given anything in writing before
anything was done.
