I am one of the many that were mislead to believe I was signing/confirming company information for a free-insertion with a "NRA", National Restaurant Association" Show held yearly. The form was presented to me to fill out and file in our show file. Apparently, the form was mailed on Sept. 11 (I have a copy of the postmark) and I received my first notice on November 25th that we owed money. So much for the 10 day notice we have to appeal. It's impossible to appeal within the time frame they state to revoke a contract. Immediately I sent an email, to discontinue the insertion, and since emailed on numerous occasions, called and sent registered mail to revoke this so-called contract? Construct Data shows receipt of form stamped on 11/7 on a copy they sent with a their stamp in the upper right corner. So, 9/11- 11/7, it took 2 months for them to receive!!??
I have contacted other associations such as NACAC, IAEE who have contacted Construct Data to stop the false, misleading mailings. They all say not to pay, and ignore the threats.
I would love to join a class action suit and stop this company from afflicting
additional stress on small business!
