I was surprised to find a ticket hanging off of my windshield. And as I had been in a hurry to get home, I did not see the ticket till I had gotten home that evening.
This was the citation..."Vehicle parked out of marked stall (No stall markings)"
I park at an airport employee desiganted parking lot, and I have done so for 31/2 years now. I have seen the city parking officers drive through the lots, citing people, but was there a shortage of tickets issued that day, or was the office just being MEAN?
Which brings me to my next step. I called to contest the citation 2 days later, to be told that the citation was not in the system yet. So I called a few days later to be put on hold, and eventually to be told that the citation was valid because I had parked out of the parking space provided. I mentioned that the officer had clearly marked on the ticket that there were no visible lines... Which already makes me wonder why I would get the ticket... But teh lady on the phone would not change her mind.
I am now stuck with paying for the ticket even if having asked for a hearing (You have to pay for the ticket while you wait for the hearing date). It is only a $30.00 ticket but I think that we have to stand up for ourselves
The City needs to wake up! Just because we are in deficit does not mean that the city needs to find unscrupulous ways to make the money!
