I looked online for moving quotes I was contacted by Sandra from Elite Movers we discussed where my belongings were at (Storage Unit in Grand Rapids, MI and that they were going to my new townhome in Arvada, CO) I gave her a description of the items I had an end table, desk, antique table, mirrors and a guestimate of how many boxes as well as the dimensions of my storage unit 5' x10'. I was given a quote of $770 and paid a deposit of $128, I knew it may be slightly higher because the price went by weight. So 2 days later I meet the movers at my unit and it is a completely seperate co. Best Priced movers, mind you they have had 70 reports to the BBB in 2 years and this is who Elite entrusted my belongings to. When they got there they could hardly spesak english they said that it looked like I jhad clsoe to 2400 lbs of stuff... in a tiny storage unit with only small pieces of furiture no beds dressers appliances, and they new estimate was $1452.00. I was immedialty leary but was out of time I had already given notice to my storage unit and flown in to MI from CO specifically to meet the movers. I spoke to BP supervisor and asked her if my items were lost or damaged would they be covered she said yes I'd just file a claim, she failed to mention they'd cover. 60 a lnb? Really? So they get to Colorado with my stuff half the boxes aremissing numbered tags for checklist or have 2 different numbers on them, they wouldnt show me my paper from the weight station, somehow the weight was an exact even number of 2300 lbs, they broke my antique mirror forged the contract stating that I packaged it, when in reality the movers did, my $150 brand new still in the box expresso machine, my new pier 1 pampasan chair my dishes, a sculpture, my bookcase, a pier 1 wicker vase, etc. But most disturbing was all of my missing items, my antique table, vaccum, dewalt power drill, 2 shoe racks, all my pan lids arrived with no pans, and a wardrobe box with multiple brand new items I had purchased during my trip to michigan gone. They charged me weight for items that miraculously disappeared. I've called elite movers to ask why I wasnt told that my contract would bve outsourced and then switched to multiple different trucks, no response, I've spoken to BP moving Supervisor Karen was told these item were not listed and that she spoke to the drivers and they were no where to be found I could file a claim for replavcement at. 60 a lb but after reading all the reveiws from this company no one that has filed a claim has been rembursed even up to 6 months after the fact, so I called and filed a police report for theft, I am posting this comment, and I have now contacted an attorney and am in the process of filing a civil lawsuit against Elite Movers as well as BP Movers, anyone else who has had issues with this company which as I've seen there has been too many to count I urge you to do ther same thuis company is flat out nothing more than a crime ring of crooks and theifs and is being able to stay in business because no one will go the distancve to ensure this doesnt happen to anyone else and stop letting companies like these give all movers a bad rep. I encourage you to ask specific questions as to how outsourcing works, reveiw companies before making any set decisions, and no matter how long the contract is read every word you would be appauled at what the small print on this contract states. Also take an exact inventory of your own and make them sign it I'm telling you from my mistakes you cannot be overly cautious. Take all steps to protect yourself and your personal belongings
