I am feeling cheated by Fedex while i am writing this review. I went to ship an envelop for an overnight deliver to the nearest Fedex office. My option to select for an overnight delivery was only after knowing the price for it. He took my envelop weighted it and gave me a receipt of 35.76 dollars. Two days later my account was charged with 58.03 dollars. They took 62% more than what the receipt was. I called up customer care and he said the receipt is just an estimation. Look at the botom of the receipt. "Subject to Additional Charges".
Ironically at the store i was willing to pay there by cash or by credit card but the person at the store advised me to use fedex account as i will get more benefits at times.
I went to this store again and he said he can't do anything as now his system doesn't have the data and asked me to call customer service again. He too wondered why they charged so much when he himself the fedex employee weighted the package and gave the receipt.
I wrote an email complaint to fedex. Nothing happened. I am feeling cheated and so i decided to close my account. They said i have put a request to close my account but it has still not closed after 7 days.
I would have not shipped overnight had the guy in the store would have told me that they are going to charge 58 dollars. He weight the envelop and told me charges for all the services (3day, 2day, 1day and overnight) and only then i selected the overnight option. Never knew that they are going to charge more 62% more.
I have never been charged more than my receipt. If i would have payed by cash, the fedex would have never charged me more, so why they are cheating there own account holder and those who pay by credit card.
