On December 10th I purchased an IPAD2 at Best Buy plus a cover and other additions. A couple of weeks later I purchased a screen cover and a 2 year policy. On January 30th my IPAD was stolen out of my luggage at TF green airport. Today, February 26th I went back to Best Buy to repurchase another IPAD, 3 year policy and other additions. After paying "Steve" his co worker Ashley stated to Steve that he should give us something I didnt hear. He said oh ya and turns and takes something off of the back wall. He said it was "FREE" when you purchased an IPAD. It is a tablet security app that is only done at Best Buy for extra protection on the product you buy from them. It is called a Lock Locate Recover program from the "Geek Squad" which if your Apple Tablet is lost or stolen, you can put a code in your computer and it will locate your Ipad, zoom in on an arial picture where it is and also will immediately lock it so no one can use it AND will take multiple pictures of the person who now has the IPAD and reports it to the police and also sends me a picture of the person. After spending another $800.00 dollars today and finding this out we went to the manager Nick and explained the situation and told him I was never offered this wonderful feature when I purchased my policy for my Ipad in December. His explanation was, not all the employees know about this. We asked why not if they offer to help the consumer. He said that they werent able to tell everyone. I said it would bve just the employees working in that one department. He compared it to the store selling 100 TV's in a day and not able to remember to tell the Tv buyers to put a surge protector on the TV??? He actually stated that sometimes the employee forgets to offer this!!! I said to him, I just spent an additional $800.00 that could have been prevented if they had only offered me the FREE LOCATOR. Its interesting how they never forget to push you to buy a policy with your item. I was so upset when I left there, Nick the manager said he would have another manager call me tomorrow. I am an EMT in the Central Mass area and got laid of on October 28th and saved up to rebuy this item that if Best Buy had only done what they were suppose to do I wouldn't have had to spend the money. If it wasn't for the other employee Ashley who reminded him to offer it to me, again I wouldn't have it or even known about it. Also Nick the manager stated that not all the employees even know about it as if that makes it all OK. Please help. I am only one person and can't fight a huge company.
