I am a Penn Power subscriber. This morning I got a call from Liberty Power. The guy tried to enroll me for their plan while making it sound like the two are the same company and I am signing up for a better rate with Penn Power. I repeatedly asked him, if I have *sign up* again, but he kept saying that it is automatic and the rates are going to change next month and he's just giving me a heads up. Then he wanted to confirm the name, address and the account number on the account. I confirmed the name and address but luckily for me, couldn't find a bill to find the account number. I told him to call meback later.
I then called Penn Power who told me that this guy had been trying to switch my account to Liberty even though I said I did not want to switch. He did not tell me the truth in spite of all the questions I asked him.
This is an underhanded technique and I am sure it has brought many consumers much grief. It is unfortunate that liberty power is stooping so low to get new customers.
I will never subscribe to liberty power. I will also be very vocal about this dishonesty: I will tell this to whoever wants to listen.
