This same scam happened to us, the person making the call described himself as the deputy of Rosedale, WV, Deputy Oliver Robinson at 681-220-0196. He was very persistent in only talking with the Pastor of the church, even went so far as to say that it was required by state laws that he only talk with the pastor. Deputy Oliver is the white deputy with the charge of trying to protect a black family stranded in an area where the family is in danger because they are black. There was a black man present who talked on the phone and was emphatic that he was being threatened and that the sheriff and others were using the "N" word to address he, his wife and 2 crying children. They presented a strong case and even to the point of pulling information from the internet about our church and using current death to endear himself to the pastor. We were instructed to wire money to Gary Lewis because they did not have a moneygram facility in Rosedale, WV. After the 1st transfer, they called back for more money to be sent because the man at the garage had drained all of the gas out of the car. SCAM, SCAM SCAM TO THE MAXIMUM DEGREE!
