On 3/23/06, I was passing through Norwalk, when a deputy, I will use the term loosely, pulled me over for impeding a pedestrian.
However, I questioned this deputy whether he had authority to cite me since he was busy looking down when I passed him, thus not observing the infraction.
The pedestrian in question was clearly on the far side of the crosswalk, the north side, when I passed throught the opposite side of the crosswalk, which created no danger for anyone.
However, this deputy, Douglas Williams, a heavy set, out of shape deputy, and quite obese, who drives the commerical police truck, changed his story in court, and stated, "the defendant nearly ran over the pedestrian."
He claimed to have observed this, but clearly, there was no proof of this and the court took his word since the judge did not have the time to go into detail on another traffic matter, she was "too busy."
I filed an appeal, which was worthless, the court stands behind lying bXXXXXXXs like Deputy Douglas Williams from L.A. County (Norwalk Substation) Sheriff's Department.
