Subway Clerk Threatened Me

My sister and I were ordering from a Subway store on Atlantic off Rock Island. There was to male clerks assisting customers with their orders. One of the male clerks, (he was of Latin culture), shifted to me and my sister. When I and my sister were deliberating on what we wanted to add to the order, the guy made a very rude comment stating ["... Taking to long to order, moving on..."]. I was very upset. I to the clerk that he is very rude and he that's not the way to talk to people. The clerk ignored me and continued to help another customer before me. When the clerk came back to me and my sister, I was highly upset form being ignored and brushed off without care. I told the clerk again that he was very rude to me and my sister and that he needs to watch how he talks and treat people. The clerk then told me that he won't help me and my sister and that I need to ask someone else. There was another male clerk at the register and he decided to help us with our order because the rude clerk stated that he refused to assist me. I informed his of his ruddiness but he kept brushing me off, dismissing me with the waving of his hand.

When the other clerk started to assist me and my sister, I told him that I no longer want to order anything anymore. My sister decided to still order her meal. I asked the rude clerk for his badge number and he ignored me. I asked him for his employee ID and he still ignored me. I looked at his shirt for a name tag and he was not wearing one so I asked his co-worker. His co-worker told me that he's not allowed to give me a name. I went outside to look for the contact number for Subway behind their door and it was not posted on the outside of the Subway door. I went back inside and I asked the clerk that was assisting me and my sister for the number to Subway so I can file a complaint and he told me he don't know it. I looked on the front and back of the receipt given to my sister but there was no contact number for Subway customer service or that particular Subway store.

I went on to Google Subway's contact information. When I realized that I needed the name and number of that Subway Store owner, I went back to the same Subway store I went to on Atlantic off Rock Island, to ask the clerk that had help me and my sister. When I arrived at the store, the clerk that was rude to us was helping a different customer out. I looked around for the other that served my sister however, he was no where to be seen. I then asked the clerk, that refused to help me before, for the name of the store manager of the Subway store I was in but he ignored me. When I went outside to make a phone call, I saw then the clerk that was rude to me poked his head out the door. He was saying something about me speaking with the store manager of the Subway store tomorrow. I went back inside and when I asked him again about the name of his store manager he asked me something of the nature about what I felt he did. I went on to tell him that he was rude to me and my sister and that he embarrassed us in front of other customers who were getting their orders. He brushed me off, dismissing me with the waving of his hand again and again showing me that he don't care at all. I made a statement to him about him not knowing how to service customer. I asked him for his store manager's name and he mentioned a name I could not understand nor pronounce. I advised him that he should not be working in a customer service environment if he doesn’t know how to service customers. He got upset arrogantly demanding to know about my work field. I informed that I work in technical support helping customers’ everyday. I told him that I know how to talk to customers and how to treat people in general. As me and the clerk was going back and forth, new customers started to walk in as I started for the door. I could then see the other clerk in the back preparing things. Customer that has walked in and customer that was sitting down eating their meals were seeing and listening to me and the clerk argue back and forth the entire time. The clerk got very upset, telling to me about "knowing where "that's at"; that's TAG." "I'm gonna go over there [pointing to the direction of where my work place was located] and..." I did not hear the rest of his threats because I immediately asked him if he was threatening me but he continued to mouth off at me, pointing his finger at my face and making threats about coming to my job and finding me. I advised him not to point his hand in my face but he continued to do so again and again. I told him again to refrain from putting his finger in my face but he ignored me. I moved backwards to distance myself away from the clerk fearing he would attack me. When I realized how angry he was, yelling at me at this time, I informed him that I will take this matter up to Subway's Corporate Office. I left the store and immediately started making phone calls to Subway's Customer Service line for help.

I realized that my safety was compromised, and threats were made in. I’m scared for my life and fear my safety. I left multiple messages on the Subway's Customer Service line with contact information on how to get in touch with me. I then went on line, found the Customer Service Complaint website and filed multiple complaints about the Subway store I went to today. I also filled out the Subway's Survey Form on the www.tellsubway.com Subway survey website.

I decided to write this letter in details because I know that evidence can be erased, video surveillance my not include audio pertaining to incidents and verbal altercations occurring at any given place. I am well aware that without video recordings or audio, complaints can be a 'he say she say' thing unless witness to these crimes come forth to testify of what happened. I also feel that, if this clerk is not brought to justice, his co-worker can in deed lie on his behalf and then threats like this will continue with other customers.

I feel the need and the obligation to speak against poor customer service treatment done to any and every customer. I speak against poor customer service treatment done to my sister whom did not want to voice her opinion and feelings to the clerk that was also rude to her. And I feel the need to speak against poor customer service, mistreatment of customers and crimes when threats are made to all customers facing these challenges including myself, whom for the first time has had to deal with this issue. I appreciate the opportunity to voice my concerns and I hope that Subway sees this letter before I feel the need to escalate this matter to the proper authorities and/or lawyer. I hope this won't escalate to legal issues if this issue is not addressed immediately.
