I have been offered a promotional Chase British Airways card wit 100000 miles applied to the executive club which was advertised as enough for 2 free round trip tickets to Europe. I have satisfied the conditions and got 100000 miles. However when i tried to use it for a trip to Madrid i was hit with almost $1400 in taxes and fees in addition to 99000 miles used. The accounting from BA went like this: the price of 2 tickets was $160 and was covered by 99000 miles, plus $1374.16 in taxes in fees. This is ab evident scam that should be banned on US soil. Iberia flies from NY to Casablanca with the stop over in Madrid for $740 all included for the same dates. This has to be stopped.
