I was online when suddenly pop-ups began to appear saying that my computer was infected with a trojan virus and 28 things that needed to be fixed. I tried to ignore this as I have anti-virus protection. However I was unable to get past these pop-ups or navigate anywhere else. It said this was a Microsoft application so I bought the program and downloaded something which then allowed me to continue to browse the internet. When I checked my programs I realized NOTHING had downloaded and I had been scammed! I contacted my credit card company who issued me a new card, but the charge is still showing on my bill and I was charged a fee of $2.39 for a foreign transaction.
