I just received a text about an opportunity to become a "Secret Shopper". I believed in it for a short while because I had been looking for a Secret Shopper job.
At first he asked only for my Zip Code to investigate if there were opportunities in my area... To which he informed me there were many and named WalMart, Penney's and CVS to name a few. He then asked my name (I gave only my first name) and my email address (which I volunteered). Then he wanted my address and I began asking questions. Why do you want my address? For what purpose? He said it was strictly for registration purposes only. I asked what was the company's name and he gave it as DRI*EMZ Shopping/Extra Money Zone.com. Finally, he reached the point where he asked for monetary compensation. He's told me there would be only a charge of $2.95 and I could earn as much as $50 remuneration per job.
I specifically brought up that I had heard of scams out there where peoples accounts were emptied or charged for large amounts of money, or people were charged for the Secret Shopper lists. [continued below]...
