I purchased my Viking microwave oven and other Viking appliances in 2006 when I remodeled my kitchen.in October the microwave stopped heating. It had power and the turntable worked but just wouldn't heat. I called the local authorized Viking service provider (Flamingo Appliance) to check it out. The first tech they sent out said it was the heating sensor at $800.00 to repair!

A few days later the microwave magically heated again and then stopped, so I called them out again. This time they sent another tech, by my request, which realized that the door sensors did not have the proper contact so he adjusted the door and it worked again. About a month later the same thing again. The same tech came out and told me that due to the door sensors not having the proper contact before the sensors burnt out. So he ordered the 4 sensors at $100.00 for the parts. Now that was more reasonable. That was on Nov. 29, a week later since I had not heard from them I called and they informed me that the parts were on back order until the 29th of December. So I waited.

Tried calling on Dec. 30 and no answer, which didn't surprise me due to the holidays. Finally got through on January 3, they still didn't have the parts. Frustrated I called Viking, and they informed me that the parts in question are now on back order until February! They apologized and that was it. Furthermore, parts come from another company, not Viking.in conclusion I will never buy another Viking appliance in my life.
