Wayne County Friend Of The Court ripoff

This all happened when all of Michigan counties were converted into one system. I can't say that I'm upset about the system changing 'cuz had it not we would of never found out about Wayne County.

One day I called the automated line for Macomb county (where my husband has a court order for child support since 1997) to update our files. When it said choose from one of the following cases. There was more than one? I then told my husband you have another case in Wayne County. He called for himself and heard it to. We tried to contact F.O.C. But as everyone knows you have no luck with that. Then finally we get a break the case is for his daughter. The same child that we've been paying Macomb County for!!! Get that 2 counties, 2 cases, same child.

So we get an attorney, go to court, the Judge dismissed the whole case because we could prove that we've been paying Macomb county. This case was opened by the mother in 1990. Wayne coutny never even contacted my husband to notify him of the case or anything. It wasn't until 2002 that we found out about this case.

So we wait for 2 months for something in the mail to show that the case was closed. Never happens and their still charging support and arrears. So we take off a day of work to go down there. We take a copy of the court order to dismiss the case. We are told that it will take 2-4 weeks. We wait 4 weeks we call the automated line again just to check the status. They have credited only half of what was "supposedly" owed and they are still charging.

So we contact MISDU (alot of good they do) they tell us that they only disburse payments they don't do anything else and their computer shows that he is in arrears of at least $20,000.

We've never missed a payment to Macomb county F.O.C. And we have custody of his daughter and still pay the state for what her mother received in welfare.

During this whole time we still have not received anthing to say our taxes would be intercepted. If he truely owed $20,000 I think the state would be at my door by now.

We've been battling F.O.C. On a bi-weekly basis now for almost 6 months. I don't if it will ever end but there is no way we are going to pay the state twice because they let her open 2 case for the same child.

This is completely insane!!!
