I was finally able to get a judgement in court for the medical and dental bills that I had to pay because my ex-husband was in contempt of court and refused to pay them as ordered.in order to do this, I had to scrape together enough money to pay a lawyer an enormous amount of money (at least for me). When the judge ordered my ex-husband to pay posthaste, he refused and was jailed. When he bonded out the same day, the Wayne County jail sent the money that was owed me, $1500, to the Friend of the Court, which they did send to me, but in the form of child support, paying off my ex-husband's child-support arrearage and now showing me overpaid. I have written to Friend of the Court, my state representative, the judge in charge of the Freind of the Court, etc., etc., etc., trying to make them understand that this money paid for medical and dental bills was a completely separate issue and should not have been applied to the child care arreage, it should have been awarded to me in addition to teh child care amounts that I received.in short, my exhusband has been permitted to have the same payment used to pay off both his obligation for medical and dental expenses and his child care arreage. Because of the so-called "overpayment" that subsequently showed on my Friend of the Court amount, Friend of the Court reduced a subsequent child care payment to me because of this "overpayment."
