Yesterday, I went to the " letmewatchthis.com" site. I signed up. When I went to download a movie. It kept sending me to the Megaflix site. I called Megaflix and asked why I could not see the terms of membership. They said I had to join. Stupid me. I "joined" Megaflix. Then you were sent to the " Visa Verified" site. The bank called me to verify. Anyway. When I could not get a movie. Or any type of confirmation. And could not find that I even had an acct w / Megaflix. I called my bank. Who informed me that a $1.00 charge was made. I asked if they could stop any charges, because I noticed that on the "Visa Verified" page. That there was a $ 49.95 charge. Anyway. I called Megaflix back. And was told " blah, blah, blah. I asked about that charge and they denied it. But said the dollar charge was to make sure my credit card was legit. Anyway. I told them whatever they do to NOT charge me anything. The guy said that he would cancel the $1.00 charge. I have just called my credit card co. And the $ 1.00 charge has been removed. I will still be checking to see that the $ 49.95 charge does not show up. My bank did tell me that they would remove the authoriation from the charge. And that I will be able to contest that charge. If it shows up. People please!!! TALK TO YOUR BANK. You can call at ANYTIME the # on the back of your credit card. Ask what you can do to stop, or contest ANY charges. I hope this helps. As for me " so far... So good. But... I will continue to monitor that credit card acct. Because they may try to sneak it back in. I will change / close out the card. But will make sure the bank tells me that will definitely stop any attempt to charge it. Because sometime, closing the acct doesn't mean anything. The charge might appear on your "new" acct #. Make sure the bank says that that it will not. Good luck!
