SMS came through on my mobile... I replied "What is this?"
Then email came through telling me I had won $500,000 in a worldwide promotion, connected through my mobile number etc... And as your scam example showed, asked for personal details but nothing about income or bank accounts... (not yet)!

I smelled a scam and remailed back to the Manager, "Mr Patrick Moore" that I was suspecting a scam and reporting it to authorities to investigate. That was all.
