ATC Freightliner of Oklahoma City
One Month Anniversary

My co-driver and I were headed to LA California with a load when we suddenly lost our entire drive shaft and had to be towed to a local shop. They were looking into it and found out that it was going to be covered by the owners insurance, but they were unable to perform the needed repairs due to not having the parts in stock. The owners of the truck we drive called around and found a Freightliner in Oklahoma City that was open 24 hours, and could perform the work, they assured us. After we got towed over 100 miles to Oklahoma City from our previous position, we camped out for the night in ATC's parking lot.

The next day the claims were set into motion, then photos taken, and the parts were supposed to be ordered, the ATC informed us and the owners. Then we learned that there was a delay in the insurance adjuster getting the ball rolling on the work so we waited a day or two and then they finally gave the go ahead to order parts. The drive shaft had taken out the drivers side fuel tank as well as the air tanks, lines, and muffler which had to be special ordered. They began the work on the truck officially around the 9th or 10th, and worked on it on and off for a couple of weeks, as they kept telling us it would be done soon and they could let the insurance people know how much the bill was going to be.

They kept adding things to the bill, and it went from 2,000.00 up to 18,000.00 plus. The insurance company finally put a cap on the charges and told the owners they would have to pay the remaining out of pocket. We have been stuck at ATC Freightliner since the 7th of Sept. And we have begged them to finish the job and get us out and back on the road to make money. The service guy kept making promises to get us done by a certain date and each time the date came they would fail to deliver as promised. The one service guy named Mark would take a bad attitude with my co-driver, ignoring his questions when he would ask questions that the owners wanted to know, and keep check on progress to report back to them. He disrespected my co-driver and myself, treating us as just drivers and not wanting to relay any information.

We have successfully been here in Oklahoma City ATC for one month today because of these people and their substandard business practices. They have MANY different mechanics working on the truck, leaving parts off the truck that have been ordered and then having to take all their previous work done back off to correct mistakes they are making. They delay getting the truck fixed because of this and do not turn in the paper work in enough time to get settlement in motion. They continue to put us off after telling us they will be done by the date they give. They failed to find other work that needed to be done after the first work was complete. They did not do a thorough job and had to go back in and do other things they did not catch the first time around.

They are costing us money as well as the owners of the truck, and have been sitting every day since the 7th of Sept, and there is no attempt to expedite the situation. I asked the service guy Mark what was going on and he began to give me excuses about needing a part, I told him that all the parts were there and had it not been for the mech putting it together wrong the night before he wouldnt need anything else. He got upset and began to give me nasty looks, so I ended the confrontation and asked him to just get it fixed soon, and I left from the service department. We have been staying in a hotel for nearly the full month and still no results.

They finally rebuilt everything on the truck from 7 am yesterday, to 5 am this morning on the 7th of Oct. Then when we think we are going to be able to leave we are told the service guy Mark failed to submit the insurance paperwork soon enough to get it in today. He had enough time to do so, he had been onsight since @ 6 am on Oct. 7th. Now we are being told that instead of Sat. Its now going to be Monday before the claim will go in and they will be paid. Mark is being spitful because he has a position of power in which he is abusing.

I would like to file a formal complaint against this ATC Freightliner Oklahoma City, but when I attempt to contact them it sends me to a page to file a complaint about a part and not a specific location. I do not own the truck so I am unable to file a complaint directly, but this aggregious conduct should be reported to the Corp. Office headquarters of Freightliner so that they may take the proper steps to make sure this doesnt happen to anyone else. Ive gotten at least two other known complaints about these people in OKC, and one of the two was from the owners we drive for at this time. They claim that did did not like the service from them from before. We had no choice this time, as we broke down in OKC.

I know they are a member of the BBB as well. I know the BBB would not constitute their substandard business practices either. The last place anyone wants to deal with is a dealer/service rep. That is unreliable and shady. I would not recommend this Freightliner in OKC to anyone, and only use it then as a last resort. I have never had a single complaint about any Freightliner, save this one.
