I called Tech-support today because I was un able to connect to the internet (which happens about 1 time each month, a regular basis). After we did many things and I finally got my internet back, he started to sell me something called "Connect-Tech" which is just $15- and they are available 24/7. It is just $15 a year. After getting more info about it, and saying "It is just $15 a year?"... He said YES! So I signed up for it.
He said they could help me with my problem of my laptop being SLOW. He started to transfer me to them, after giving me my order# and there 800 phone number. When I was tranferred to them, first thing I said was "I want to confirm with what I just signed up for... That Connect-Tech was $15- a year?" The guy said "NO... It is $15- a MONTH!" That makes it $180- a year! I told her I was told it was $15- a YEAR not a Month! I told her I wanted to cancel it immediately beause I was mislead! She said she could not do it, but would transfer me back to Tech-Support, so they could cancel it.
Well, I was transferred back & forth SIX times to different people, telling each one the story & my acct#, etc. Then the last person I got (BRUCE) said that he could cancel it, but it there would be a $120 cancellation charge! I said "NO WAY" and went on & on about that I JUST signed up for it, WHY? Bruce put me on hold and talked to his Supervisor "LEVI". Well, Levi said they would waive the $120- cancellation charge, but they could not refund or waive the $15- fee for the 1st month. Now you tell me they will waive the $120- but would absolutely NOT the $15- charge, which was by that time been about 39 mins prior. I was on the phone for a total of 1 hr and 39 mins, and was now being charged $15- for the 1st month of Connect-Tech, which they just cancelled, and I never used it!
I am going to see if I can cancel my DSL service (I already cancelled my land-line service 6 mos prior). I am no longer EVER going to do business with any AT&T service... DSL, phone, wireless, universe, TV, lon distance, etc.! They have terrible customer service, and each person could care less in helping a customer at all!
