Several months ago Speedway Gas Stations began pushing users of their Reward Card to change it to a Speedy Pay Card.in their statements, they said that with the Pay Card a purchase would be taken out of the customers checking account. This would save Speedway from paying a processing fee when a debit or credit card was used. For doing this the customer would receive double points for the purchase and an additional $0.05 off of each gallon of gas.
I did not care about the points, I already had over 10,000. I wanted to save money so I signed up for the Pay Card.
After being quite happy using the Pay Card for 90 days, I discovered that I no longer received a discount.in emails from Speedway they said the discount was only good for 90 days.
Speedway is still saving money when a customer uses the Pay Card but are not willing, after 90 days, to pass that savings to the customer.
If you want to save Speedway money and get almost no reward for doing so, please continue to use the Pay Card.
My plan is to use the Reward Card portion and recieve the $0.03 off of each gallon of gas. I then tell the pump not to pay for the purchase with that card. I insert my debit card and pay for the gas with it.in this manner I am receiving the maximum discount Speedway is offering but Speedway is having to pay a processing fee which costs them money.
Someone at Speeway needs to learn how not to mistreat customers that they need as repeat customers.
