My husband and I like paying online because it is convenient. We had fallen one payment behind and had already agreed on a payment plan with Aarons, yet for some reason they phoned us 5 times a day. They kept ringing both of our phones, and they also rang every one of our references five times daily. They even shared personal details of our account with one reference, who promptly called to warn us.
On August 28th we paid off the late amount online and received a confirmation email. Then on September 2nd, multiple calls from blocked numbers began, which turned out to be the store asking us to stop in. This morning, September 3rd, at 10am, someone knocked at our door. To our surprise, an Aarons associate had come to take back our rentals over a $10 late fee. Nothing about a late fee appeared when we paid online.
The associate was extremely rude. She wanted to know whether we ever answer our phones and whether they work at all. Why would anyone answer blocked calls? My husband paid her $10 in "late fees," and she walked away without even handing us a receipt. About ten minutes after that, the general manager phoned and said we were slightly short on our last payment. Naturally I told her that her associate had just been here and taken the money. She had not yet heard a word from that associate, so much for their communication.
We are seriously thinking of returning what we rent from them and switching to another company. Be warned, they will harass you by phone or by showing up at your door.
