I am on ssi for bipolar disorder and was appointed a payee in 2005 who had a office at sacred heart for new clients and picking up checks. I believe the name of the company was fax inc. Right away i noticed that my weekly checks were unusually low but at first thought that maybe they gave the money left on each months account rollover to the next and so forth. Then i called the ssa and was told you must spend each months money otherwise they will discontinue for lack of need. My workers name was isabell cordalia and i one day confronted her and was told my money was held in a savings for when i find housing for at the time i was homeless. I thought that was a reasonable answer and stopped looking into it.in the end of 2006 beginning of2007 i recieved a letter from isabell or her company per say telling me that they were residing and the number to the office will no longer work. I was also told my new payee would be bmc or benifits management co. And life. Once again i was foolish enough to think it was a simple switch and was actually happy to go to a payee who let me have more of my ssi money. A few days later i spoke with a judge manley mental health court assistant in with i was appointed during my addiction struggle. Her name was accricia barrio phone number 4084914847 and she gave me the real reason for the sudden change... Isabelle had embezzled over 200 of her clients ssi money stating various excuses to her clients (what was best believed by the individual) and got caught and was going to be charged. I have no idea exactly how much she took from me but i know i hardly made it week to week in food, clothing, and shelter. I assume fedral court charged her but i dont know the outcome and the government isnt going to give me anything back they just start fresh and make sure it dosent happen again and actually look at it as THEIR loss??? I want to sue isabelle cordalia and her scam payee company or sacred heart at the least for pain and suffering and actually being homless for to years for lack of sufecient funds.
