I was on the internet and message that I had won a gift card
for 1000 dollars from Best Buy. I am the least likely to respond
to any such thing, however, I proceeded and part of my requirements was to enter my cell phone contact number to
receive a pinn number to enter on the application. Then immediately
I started receiveing text messages that where Unrelated, yet, associated with this company and from the same phone number.
I don't have text ability so I did not and can not text back without
charges and at the end of their text it states that you can text back
and enter stop a subscription (which I did not enter into) at a cost
of 9.99. I never received any confirmation as to my winning
what they had stated that I won and because I received so many
messages from them I started lokking on the net for information about anything related to what had just taken place. Well It did not take any effort to find many comments about the same experience at their cost. Why did this last long enough to get to me?
Why doesn't anyone make these people become liable for their
claims and hold them to the statements and gift certificates that
they by fraud claim to any indivdual including myself because its obviously gone on for a lengthy time, and they do get by with
charging premium rates to cell phone customers? I had to spend
four hours of my time to try to stop anything else and in spite of
this — this is nothing less than mail fraud!!! I think that I am
right in suggesting that they should have to stand good for their
ficticious offer to all and be prosecuted until they are begging to save their own skin!!! Unsuccessfully!!! I don't need any advice
on what or when to do anything related to the net! I was duped by
things that already have regulations not to mention that most everything out there has websites in which you are to trust people asking for personal information even if its only to pay your bills faster.
