Hey all, This company called the other week offering their magazine services at 14.95 a month but charges in lumps of 49.74. I was in a hurry at the time and at the moment it sounded like a good deal. So I asked them if I would get mail to confirm it in a few days and if I could cancel it. Now i think about it the operator kept dodging the question and never answered it fully. Today the rep calls back and I tell her that I don't want the service and she threatens to put fraud charges on me...
Is there anyway I can get out of this? I'm just a student working to pay off my own school so at the least I can't pay off the 49.74 a month. I was reading another guys post about a similar service and it basically matches his stuff
Failed to include an official notice of cancellation or inform consumers in writing of their right to cancel, then stated there was a non-cancellation clause in their contract.
Engaged in false and deceptive tactics to promote magazine sales
Engaged in intimidation tactics (i.E., multiple phone calls a day, continued harassment, threats)
Falsely claimed that consumers' savings would outweigh the costs.
Please help...
