Aylesbury Farms Apartments
Bait and Switch. Provided unlivable apartment. Endangered health of myself and pregnant wife

Three days before scheduled move-in, this apartment office insisted I change my move-in date which had been agreed to 2 months prior. They wanted to push the move-in date back a full week. I refused due to already making arrangements to vacate the current apartment and had non-refundable deposits on movers. I settled for moving the date back one day. Rather than having an entire weekend, this caused me to have only one day to accomplish everything from inspecting the new apartment, helping the movers, cleaning and releasing the keys of the old apartment. During this one chaotic day, we arrived at Aylesbury Farms Apartments to get the keys and inspect our new apartment. We found the apartment to be very different than the model we were shown 2 months earlier. During our initial visit and walk-through of the model unit, I specifically asked if anything was different in the actual unit and was told "no, it is all the same". This was a total lie. Of course, now it's the day of the move and I have movers waiting who are charging me by the hour and my old apartment office is expecting to take possession of my old unit in a couple hours. I was cornered into a position where I HAD to accept this unit. Not only was it not the same style and likeness of what was initially promised, the unit was also filthy. It was infested with many bugs, it had years of built-up dirt and dust on every surface. The condition was unlivable. When confronted about the dirt and bug issue the manager sent 2 people over to "wipe down" some areas. This just caused large clumps of dust balls to fall onto counter tops and the floor. It also kicked up so much dust into the air that my wife and I had trouble breathing for several days. We both had a bad cough by day 3. They sent an exterminator to spray for bugs. He showed up while my wife and I were sleeping one morning. He sprayed without attempting to wake us up, then left. We awoke to find a notice left saying that the apartment should be vacated for at least 2 hours following the spray. This was especially shocking since my wife is pregnant and this led to a great amount of stress and worry about potinetial effects on her pregnancy. We left this apartment after living here for 7 days. We returned to our old apartment complex and we told Aylesbury Farms Apartments that they were in violation of the lease terms. We demanded they let us out of our lease without penalties and to be reimbursed for our moving expenses, damages (food and other property was ruined due to bug infestation), and for a return of our application and administration fees paid to the apartment. They did release us from the lease, however they refused to return or compensate any payments for their negligence.
