Bidclerk.com mislabled a job I had posted on their site from a popup. They can and will refer any incompetent and or fraudulent individual to you putting you at risk or danger as long as they have paid account holder fees. They provide no prior screening or even check for any credentials of those who hold accounts and classify themselves as contractors. They will refer anyone to you and believe you me, they can refer a bigger problem than you could possibly find on your own.
I completed their requested information which I was trying to locate a contractor to build a small residential home. Bidclerk.com referred this job to a criminal who was previously convicted of "building without a license" and other related charges. He presented a fake license to me and also related himself to a major reputable home building firm in a neighboring town by his same name. Upon investigation and background checks, nothing was revealed to cause me suspicion. He advised me to contact bidclerk.com for reference which I attempted to do but they did not respond except to my last phone call when they would only verify that he had an account with them and listed as a general contractor. They refused to give any additional information regarding him although they gave him my personal information. I hired him based on www.bidclerk.com's referral as well as his presentation of the fake license and no findings in a background check.
4 weeks into the job, he had spent the entire contracted amount to build the home and I was left with only a shell of a home less than 25% completed. He was tried and convicted of building without a license in the state of alabama and also on several related charges. He however, was listed with bidclerk.com as a contractor in spite of having been found guilty of this before and was given my information by bidclerk.com. Again, bidclerk.com protected his information while freely giving mine out. When I contacted them about this, I spoke with a manager/supervisor of some sort who ultimately accepted no responsibility for this. He admitted that they mislabled my job. And furthermore, they referred my job and information to a convicted criminal of building fraud. They did not even bother to verify that he was properly credentialed as a building contractor in his state. I had no reason to believe that his license was fake and was not aware that even could be verified. I paid for a background check that revealed nothing and also checked references who I later learned were as unscroupulous as he.
Bidclerk.com should know who they are referring or at least make sure they hold proper license before referring them to major building jobs. They added insult to injury by futher blaming me and accepting no responsibility for this loss. This company is only concerned about collecting the account fees that apparently even I could pay and have myself listed as a licensed builder to collect information from bidclerk.com on potential victims of my fraud if I so choose. Bidclerk.com is NOT concerned about who they refer to you and make no attempt at any filter or screening of what kind of people they refer to you to complete your job. Beware using this company. You would be better off to blindly pick random numbers from your local phone book as opposed to using this company.
