On 6/13 A telephone sales rep named Charles (who did not offer a last name) called me to state that the company was having a promotion for 2 free round trip air fare tickets to "anywhere in the Continental US and including Alaska, Hawaii and in Canada or the Caribbean, Bahamas and Puerto Rico. He said these tickets could be used anytime within one year with blackout date ONLY on Thanksgiving. The only fee was a one time charge of $99.00 for the two round trips tickets" I laughed and told him this was too good to be true and asked what are the additional fees upon redeeming. He insisted and even swore there were no additional fees or restrictions. I told him I wanted to discuss it with someone first and then I would get back to him. He gave me his number (888) 248-1402. I called Charles on 6/15. Again I asked the following: What are the restrictions? Can I fly anywhere? What days? How long can I be away? He again reiterated and swore numerous times that I could use the tickets to fly in anywhere in the continental US and Canada and Caribbean. No blackout dates except Thanksgiving. He said I could make the trip for as long as I want as long as I book the tickets and return within the year. He even explained I could look up the airfare myself from any of the airlines to see if there were still seats available then call their customer service any time and tell them which airline and flight # I wanted to be booked on. His only charge was a one time $99.00 plus tax totaling $108.95. He told me I was allowed to buy up to two packages. I purchased the two packages for $217.90. He said to wait for the certificate and call for the free redemption. Well, when I got the certificate it states it is "A TWO DAY HOTEL STAY AND AIRLINE FARE FOR TWO" I must go only when They have availability and ONLY FOR TWO DAYS."... All accommodations are subject to their availability and promotions inventory during low season and off peak travel period" only. I must pay $65.00 to redeem the certificate then I must also pay for other "expenses including approximately US $150.00 per person, and any miscellaneous expenses..." Then in addition, "Once reservations are confirmed, a service fee will be levied for all changes..." It mentions places where we could travel in the US but does not even include Hawaii. After this NO HUMAN PERSON is willing to talk to me. The certificate lists the telephone # (925) 465-1499. Also I remembered that the rep (Charles) had also given me the customer service # as well (800) 770-2042 to call when I was ready to redeem the certificate. At this number (which I called 3 days in a row) all they do is take your name and number and promise you "someone will get back to you today." I am still waiting.
