An ad popped up on the right side of my gmail account when I was taking care of a customer service issue with Amazon.com. It looked interesting so I clicked through. It was a supposedly Canadian site (great because it saves in shipping and customs fees) and offered up for auction some items I was interested in.
The auctions were ending in minutes and were of such good prices for iPads (through Amazon I was looking at a tablet... I was easy pickings for their ad software) that were such a super deal, looked reputable, and we were encouraged to sign up for our account. Some that had 'ended' recently were held up as examples of what good deals were to be had.
When you sign up for ebay and Amazon, there is no fee. Well, for this one there seemed to be no way around paying an initial fee of $99. It seemed to be for 'bids' but again, the help file wasn't much use and the auctions were ending soon... I tried to find a way around but there wasn't any evident, so I plugged in my credit card number and figured it would be a great source for presents etc.
When you finally get on the site with the actual auction, not the initial page that sucks you in, it is such total crap that I asked for my money back right away. Again, like Jackie, I got the response that there are no refunds and that if I had taken the time to read everything I would have seen that. I, too, was credited with more bids to my account.
If you bid in the last 20 seconds, they reset the bid! So the 'auctions' they used to entice us through the door were so false! There is no way that an iPad 2 auction ended with it won for $21!!! Not with people programming in bids and the bids going up by $0.01 with each click.
What a scam. Now I am out $99 for a site that I will never use.
Shame on google, shame on Bidrack, shame on me for believing. Shame on them for not refunding my money when they advertised their product falsely.
