I made a reservation with this site for a local Ontario hotel, not realizing that they would be charging me way over what I would have paid if it had booked directly, (which I actually thought the number I was phoning was for). When they asked me which location I wanted for this chain, I told them and assumed that this was the number for booking with this hotel chain. I was debited for 498.01 on my credit card for this booking. When checking out of the hotel I was giving an invoice for 338.80, a big difference in price for sure!
These sites should be illegal and not allowed to operate. They are simply a middle man and making money of those of us who thought we were getting a better price online. This is robbery and the public should be warned about what a rip off these sites are. They buy up a group of hotel rooms for the nights you require, then turn around and charge much more than you would have actually had to pay. There is a lot of crooked things going on on the internet and this is certainly one of the them. I hope there is some serious investigation done on this problem as I'm sure I am not the only victim of this scam.
