Complaint about policy - checks not being cleared

I was shopping at the target store in sterling heights mi. I had enough funds in my checking but the store wouldnt' us my checks because the 1-800 # i was givin to clear this up said, that i havn't been shopping at thier store and i could only write a check for under a 100 $. The team member tried her best to help. 1st check didnt go thru because it was over a hundred so we went to another register and proceded to write 2 more checks. I needed to write 1 more check to buy my items. I proceeded to but, blam! Agian but this time the check was written for 62 $ and that one didnt clear! What is up with this stupped policy. I had over 3 thousand $ in my checking. I called my bank agian and they agian said there should have been no problem for target to cash these checks. I am never going to used checks, debit cards, credit cards at your stores agian! Mrs. Angie
