Vonage
Misleading

On or about Feb. 17th signed up with Vonage for service. Sales rep. Explained all details about their services & charges. One thing said was that it will take upto 10 business days to transfer the lines from present career which is AT&T in this case. But Vonage was going to charge from the day you sign up with the, they charge you right away on your charge card & then every month. The question was raised about double billing charges from Vonage & also from AT&T till the process is completed. But at the same time sales rep said that she will provide us with Temp. Tel. No. & can help to set up line using the device that we had from vonage which was sent previously but was never used. & we can use that no. For making & receving calls. Following day the device of Vonage was activated & was installed as per advise from their technical support. Started using their service from the day it was said that it is ready to use. But instead of going through Vonage network phones were going through the AT&T net work for one week use of the line before Vonage technically took over the line AT&T charges for making calls to overseas country came in several hundred dollars. This is really really a Miss leading & Miss representation, without proper explanation, & with such a pressure technique from Sales rep. That it is definitely going to work... Etc... On receiving the Call chareges from AT&T we approached to Vonage about this messup & it was reported to their Executive Response Team on or about 3/22.

After about 2 weeks, on 4/7 response was received from Vonage that they did not do anything wrong, they are not responssible for charges billed by AT&T. It is not understood what I can do between legal & technical beuaracracy between two giant telecommunication cos.& became a victims for several hundred dollars. Is any one can guide what to do in this kind of matter. We were never told thatmy account will be charged by other carriers. Use of calls were made as advised. But Vonage denies that they do not have any records of our phone making.
