I sent my grandson (Van Don Williams) to Best Buy to purchase a Garmin GPS for my car trip that same day;he used an Amex card attached to my card. The sale was a 11:41 AM. When I opened the package the Garmin screen was cracked and had some type of glue of a plastic burn on the surface. I went to the store as I was leaving for my trip; arrived at the store at 2:30 PM the same day. The manager refused to exchange the product. He stated the white sticker (bar code?) on the Garmin had been removed and I guess exchanged because it seems it did not match the box. Note that I am 74 years old and did not dream of looking at those things. I did observe that the box was well packaged but not sealed. Therefore, any employee carefully opening the box could have exchanged the damage product. If the company does not have a policy of opening the product in front of the customer at the time of purchase, the customer should not be penalized for discovering that the product is damaged.
