Took my car in for a service & a total overhaul. I asked them to check everything, replace everything that's broken, replace the cam-belt etc. Where the policy is one day, it took them three. Afterwards I was notified that the heating unit/aircon switch/front console that needed to be replaced was not yet received & the car had to wait for the next week. I told them there's no way I can wait any longer & I'll rather come back when they have it. Needless to say, one week became two. Took the car in on a Saturday, they replaced the console. Not even three weeks later the console started malfunctioning (no air gets blown into the cabin, no matter what fan strength setting is used). I've postponed taking the car back in, because I can't afford to wait so long again. But now the worst has happened. My car's engin has lost a lot of power & compression. I took it in to a place that uses the computer to analyse the vehicle's faults & have been informed that the cambelt has damaged the pulley as a result of a tension in the belt that was too rigid. Shouldn't these guys (the certified dealers & repairers of Opel) be able to do a simple enough task as replace a cambelt, without these kinds of issues?
