Ntb
NTB (webster, tx)

I went in to NTB for some breaks. They advised that I get the back brakes immediately, but the front could wait a little longer. However, they advised that I get an AC Altenator belt and a power-steering belt replaced ASAP. I had no indication of any other issues regarding my belts or other services for that matter. I didn't have any lights on (oil, battery, etc). So, after speaking with the manager who advised me of how serious it is for me to have new belts, I agreed to have it done. He replied, "Well, at least you don't have anything else wrong with your car." Well, two days later I heard a clicking noise coming from underneath the hood. I took it in after work and they told me that one of the belts had broken and I have a major oil leak and power-steering fluid is leaking. How odd is that! So, they replaced the broken belt and advised me to come in on the following day to ask the manager "what the heck happened with your car?" So, I did just that. He said the new belt was basically overpowering the old power-steering pump and i would need to replace that. After telling him I had no budget for all the maintainence on my car at this time, he agreed to replace the pump without charging me for the labor. I am giving the shortened version because there was a lot of dialogue about me not having the leaks and such before I had the belts replaced on my car and I thought it was partly their neglegence that I am having those issues now. So, I decided to leave my car overnight because he didn't think i should drive it before i had the power pump replaced. Well, I was promised a phone call about 10a, so he could give me the price of the pump, but he never called. I called him about noon and he hadn't even ordered the part, so i had to wait another 2 hours for the part to come in. I went to the shop about 430 to check on the progress and they were just installing it. They had problems getting the wheel to turn and air bubbles kept getting into the pump, so I basically walked out about 715p before they thought I was good to go. Two days later I go to start my car and the lights on the dash and the headlights are flickering. I can't believe this! So, I try to restart the car, but nothing! So, my friend and I pushed the car to the nearest parking lot outside my apt gate and wait til morning. We checked the cables on the battery, but it seemed to be in place. I am considering filing a law suit, but I will have my car thouroughly examined by someone else first. I trusted them with my car, but I felt very uncertain when my belt broke 2 days later. I was even more uncomfortable listening to the stories in the waiting room. One lady got new tires, but she had to go tell the guy to balance them (she paid for it). Please, please, please go somewhere else to get your car maintainence!
