I just returned a bookcase we ordered through JC Penney. According to its description, it was solid oak furniture. What we received was certainly not solid oak. It was chipped, and cracked particle board, with the badly stapled back totally damaged. We were very disappointed with JC Penney, since they claimed they sold high quality solid wood furniture.
