Defective LCD TV Model 42PFL7403D/F7, Searil Number YA1A0844002533

My wife purchaced this TV for me on Dec 10 for my christmas gift. I took it out of the box and set it uo in mid Jan 1009. On Feb 10 I turned the set on and the whole bottom of the screen about 8" high on the whole bottom of the screen was scrsmbled and showed some double images. I concated Phillips customer support and we went through everything. I told customer support that I knew that my set was no longer under warranty. I asked for the closes location where they would send me for repair for this brand. II took it to the repair shop on Feb 15. On Feb 22 I was contacted by the repair shop and they told me that the LCD pannel was bad and they contacted Phillips and was told that the part was no longer avaiable. This set just turned two years old and we payed over $1350 dollors. I have contacted Philips custmerer support that very same day and several weeks after that saying that a TV set coasting that much and only lasting two years and parts no longer avaible. This shows me that Philips dose not stand by there products. Yes I know that it was no longer under warranty but a major part of this set should not have gone in two years and the part no longer avaiable I feel is unexceptable. I was never even offered a set that was refurbished and certified with equial or greater value no additional warranty wich I feel would have been fare. All I was told that there was nothing they could do. No extened warranty was offered at the time of purchase. I asked them If I was able to purchace this warranty and this happened they said they would have set me a new TV set. I was not asking for a new set just one that was refurbished the equial or better that had been certified by them. The last time I spoke to Philips customer service I told them I felt that a major part on a set at this price range going bad and the part after two year time is no longer avaiable is unexceptable. I asked for there Corp office phone number and all I got is a P.O. Box adress. I sent them a letter aboun my complaint on Feb 28 and am awaiting a responce if they even send me one.
