Beware of buying a philips tv set. I purchased a TV set in 2006. The TV broke down this past month. It was diagnosed as the inverter board being broken. The board is no longer available. I called the authorized dealer and was told the part is no longer available. A letter was sent to Consumer Care Center and their inane response was to refer me to an authorized dealer for repair (how can it be repaired if the part is no longer available?) as well as to tell me that the Maniufacturer's Warranty has expired, the consumer is responsible for any failures and Philips is not able to offer assistance. I do not expect the set to be fixed by the warranty but expect Philips to either furnish the inverter board or offer me a TV set a a reduced price. Four years for a set to break down and not be repairable is not acceptable
