A young black man rang my door bell, and wanting to further any young persons education, i invited him into my house and he gave such a sincere pitch about the magazines he was selling, I listened.
He assured me this was going to give him points toward getting into college with a scholarship and different magazines gave him more points and if I paid the same day he would get more points and, naturally, I wanted to help him.
I ordered a Jack and Jill magazine for my 7 year old grandson who I thought would enjoy it. That was November 16. I finally asked my grandson if he was receiving the magazine and he did not know. I asked his mother today, January 28, if he was receiving the magazine and the answer was No.
This is a very sad incident because, now, I don't care who it is at my door wanting help, the answer will be negative.
This is stealing! Theft by design! How do we stop being compassionate? I am a Christian and know we are supposed to help other people but now I cannot throw money away for some unscrupulous people.
