I purchased a Kirby vaccum from an in home sales demonstration. I was first approached by a woman at my door that stated that she was offering a "free" in home demonstration of a cleaning solution. She never mentioned the Kirby Vaccum as I was not in the market for a vaccum I would have sent her on her way. Nevertheless a gentlemen came in my home and did a demonstration of the vacuum. Several times during the demo I made it clear that I was not in the market. Towards the end of the demo he then called his "Manager" and he then came in to "close the deal". I was very clear about my situation with pet hair and not comfortable with the fact that the unit had bags opposed to a tank that I can empty and reuse and he assured me that two bags were going to last me a year. I have used the system 4 - 5 times in the last 28 days and have already gone through 1 bag. Then I was using one of the attachments on my couch and the metal piece that holds the brush on the plastic attachement broke and the brush came off the attachement. Then on Sunday the system quit working all together when apparantly dog hair got freyed and tanged around the spoke coming out of the front of the unti that turns the motor. Also the nozzel to the hose that I use as a canister tore and is now broken. I called the company to complain and I was told that the owner/manager of complaints was the only person that was going to be able to help me was going to call me today by noon. I called at noon becuase I had not heard from her and the switch board person told me that she was aware of my complaint but had errands to run and would be calling me back upon her return. I feel that the Owner/Manager being that she sells a product to the public and as the salesman stated to me that "they take great pride in taking care of thier kirby customers" would have taken the time to call me instead of pushing me off to run errands. As my dissatisfaction grew about being put off by the owner to run errands I called back and asked to speak to someone that could help me that was more accessible. Nita (I beleive that was her name) got on the phone and would not let me get a word in. She kept innteruppting me, telling me that the owner would call me back upon her return that being the owner she had things to do that were apparantly more important that a customer with a complaint. When I asked for her full name she refused to give me her name which being that she had my first and last name I think it only be a courtesy that I have her first and last name as well. At no point in any of my conversations with the employees at RTS has anyone given me the name of this such Owner/Manager. I feel that I am getting the run around and eventually will end up having to pay 1200.00 for a substandard vaccum that does not work with my household situation. I had to sign a contract that states I had 3 days to return the product. Had I known in that three days that it was not going to work properly I would have returned it.in no way would I have known in three days that dog hair was going to get freyed into the motor and the attachments were not going to hold up. Nor would I have know that the bags were not going to last as long as the salesman. I would hope that they would want to stand behind thier product and instead of being more concerned with the sale be more concerned about the consumer and realize that a product is not right for everyone's situation.
