I purchased a GE dishwasher from HH Gregg on 11/16/10. We picked it up 11/18/10 and I made arrangements with a contractor who was currently doing work in my home to install it. After installation, there was a water leak at the left front corner. I could not use the dishwasher due to the leak. I called for service, and a service man from A&E Factory Service (800-905-9505) came to repair the leak on Wednesday, November 24. Repair technician said in his report: "Part Failure: Nut missing on upper rack left side mounting point, water going through hole." Repair technician verbally stated to me "there was nothing wrong with the install. The product is defective—missing a part." Repair technician further stated "it will take a week to get the bolt ordered and in before we can come back to repair your leak." When I called HH Gregg, I talked to Customer Relations "Theresa" and explained the problem. I requested HH Gregg to pick up the defective dishwasher and to replace it with another. I also requested free installation, as the contractor who originally did the install (and was paid for the install) was no longer at my home. Theresa checked with Store Manager Gregg who told her "HH Gregg is not responsible for the installation since we did not use one of their installers. Customer can bring dishwasher back to HH Gregg if they wish." Store Manager Greg was "busy" and could not speak to me on the phone. I called back and left a message for Greg to call me but did not receive a return call. So I have a new GE dishwasher that I cannot use due to a significant leak. I will never shop at HH Gregg again, as they do not stand by their products when they are defective. Their store manager does not even return my calls.
