I was recently laid off and current on my mortgage, but I knew in time I would not be able to afford my 1140.00 mortgage payment, so in August I started the process of applying for the home modification program. I sent all the documents requested and called to learn that it had been assigned to Shauna Hannah for review. I kept calling and talked to several people being told many different things, but could never talk to shaunna. I was told that I was missing a document so I immediately faxed the document to them even before I got a letter telling me I was missing the item. I never heard anything from them again. I began missing payments in October, and kept calling to see how much longer before it would be finished. I kept getting the run around, different stories, being told it wasn't even in the system, being transferred round and round because I was told they kept sending me to the wrong department, only to be hung up on by the automated system because I had been transferred too many times. I had to call in the evenings due to new job and when I called at night I always talked to foreign people I couldn't understand who told me I was calling India, Norway, Bangledesh, etc. I have spent countless hours per call with them and each time, I never get anything resolved. The collections department began calling me when I was 3 months behind to try to get me to make my back payments, but they couldn't help me address the issue of the modification plan because that was not their department. I am so frustrated with this whole situation and have filed bankrupsy putting the house in the suit. I really wanted to keep the house, but I need the payments lower. Chase has done nothing to help me get this resolved, and the only department that seems to be active is the one that is coming to put a lock box on my door and kick me to the curb. How much bailout money did I pay them??? If I ever get another mortgage, it will be through a local owned bank. I will never do business with chase again. Come and get the place and add it to your pot of homes that you know have possession of. I guess they like to keep the houses to themselves, and I will keep the money to myself. I hope the president knows what chase is doing by taking money and not helping those it was intended for.
