Toronto Events/Keith Certo, CEO Berkeley Inc.in Toronto is a new upstart Ds-max/Quantum scam

I am writing to report to Toronto residents the emergence of this office space registered to a Berkeley Inc. (www.berkeleyinc.ca), which is a new face of the scam previously implicated (and well-documented) below:

They currently (25/10/10) post on toronto job websites and immediately respond via email as follows:

"Thank you for your interest in a marketing/management position with our company. We would like to congratulate you as we have selected you as one of the top candidates in consideration for this position within our firm."

This is well-documented on the internet and a simple google search for their CEO, Keith Certo, leads to a laundry list of more information. Let me surmise from my interview experience, combined with knowledge online that i looked into after being creeped the eff out: if you ever end up in an interview in a shady office and hear the acronym "JUICE", run. If you ever hear about a "marketing" organization that invites people to a "day of observation" in its second interview, run. The numbers 5 and 8, run. It's really a shady sales "company" with no record of incorporation, no logo in the office, recruitment directors who do not exist, and a team of chanting sales reps who are not paid what they are promised in their interviews.

In fact, the entire office except for the receptionist, is a group of people that thinks they're in a management trainee program. They were each promised a $75 000 salary in 5-10 months, after completing a graduated payment scheme that starts at $350-$550 per week based on weekly sales performance.

Let's do some math: 2 reps at a table, selling $600 of merchandise in one week (this number can conceivably be higher or much lower each week and is based on how many people they've duped). This figure, combined with the starting payment scheme for their lowest level employee, means all their employees are entitled to more money than their revenue per capita. That's before proceeds to charities, before overhead, before management salaries, and before profit. That's called a pyramid.

Their toronto M.O. Appears to be going to unsuspecting Sears and Wal-Mart managers, who allow them to solicit sales at booths in their stores. They claim those proceeds go to local charities such as DARE, CCAA, child find ontario, and the june callwood centre, but this is difficult to corroborate.in one astounding scheme, passersby are encouraged to buy a toy (worth nothing) for $10 to donate to a june's centre toy drive by placing it in a box. I would be interested to know if those toys ever reach their charity or if they become tomorrow's inventory.
