I just bought a Laptop with Vista. This was a blessing in disguise. The Vista part that is. After having all those annoying pop-ups, Having to have administration rights for this and that, the Word processor telling me everytime that I only have 20, etc times to use it and on and on and on. Well, I had enough. I went to Virtualbox.org and downloaded their free software. Downloaded and installed Ubuntu 8.10, which is the tested version, and I am as happy as a lark. Don't worry about messing up anything. The Ubuntu is not installed on the internal HD but inside the software Virtual box. If you screw up or decide you don't like it, just click on delete and it's gone. You don't mess up anything on your Hard Drive. I like it so much, I'm now thinking of installing Ubuntu or another Linux directly on my HD and no more Bill Gates on my computer. Don't forget to tell all your friends about it, like I am doing. I'm even helping them install Ubuntu, and they're dong the same.
